Mysticism & Mysteries
Ancient folklore tells of the Mazzaroth, a Hebrew word that generally means ‘the constellations of the zodiac’. The Mazzaroth is referenced in Job 38:31-33, but you won’t see the word, mazzaroth, since it’s regularly translated ‘constellations’.
Hebrews believed the Mazzaroth reveals the story of the fall of mankind and God’s plan of redemption in the stars which were placed during Creation. After the Exodus from Egypt, God instructed the people not to engage in mysticism, including that which involved the constellations – what we call astrology. Astrology is the divination of the supposed 'influences of stars and planets on human affairs and events by their positions and aspects' (Webster’s dictionary).
God’s prohibition to the priests against eating anything with blood or the practice of divination is recorded in Leviticus 19:25; and the warning is then given to Israel: ‘When you enter the land Adonai your God is giving you, you are not to learn how to follow the abominable practices of those nations. There must not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through fire, a diviner, a soothsayer, an enchanter, a sorcerer, a spell-caster, a consulter of ghosts or spirits, or a necromancer.’ (Deuteronomy 18:9-11)
What had been fashioned as good, had been used for something evil. If you read the article on Nimrod and Semiramis, you will understand more about the formation of the Mysteries Religion, practiced throughout the ancient societies of Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Rome, and carried into the Far East and Norse religions, which taught the worship of many gods, elevated kings to powerful spiritual leaders, and taught the elite the elevation of self to a higher plane through understanding the mysteries – in essence, to become gods themselves. It is the same claim made by Ha’Satan (the Enemy of the The Name) to Eve in the garden, ‘It is not true that you will surely die; because God knows that on the day you eat from it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.’ (Genesis 3:4)
Satanists believe he is good, being the angel of light and provider of knowledge; and, that the Almighty is bad because He withheld knowledge from Adam and Eve. Understanding the warnings against mysticism and any practice of the ancient Mysteries Religion, let’s look at Kabbalah and the Cabal – and be surprised, as I was.
