But as for me and my house ...
Ohio Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich believes the deployment of American troops in Jordan — which was announced Wednesday — brings the United States "immeasurably" closer to being dragged into the civil war in Syria.
"I can see in a moment how it happens: we're a few dozen miles from the Syrian border and all of a sudden we are within the reach of physical danger. All it takes is a single incident," Kucinich said in a phone interview with U.S. News. The Ohio congressman complained that the commander-in-chief sent the troops to Jordan "without notifying Congress." Ironically, Kucinich noted, the Obama administration announced the deployment exactly ten years after the House of Representatives authorized President George W. Bush to invade Iraq. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta disclosed on Wednesday that over 100 American troops had been sent to near the Jordanian border with Syria. "As we've said before, we have been planning for various contingencies, both unilaterally and with our regional partners," explained Pentagon spokesman George Little in a statement reported by The Associated Press. The AP reports that the U.S. troops will be working on "increased cooperation and more detailed planning" in response to the Syrian conflict. [Check Out the U.S. News Collection of Mid East Cartoons] Kucinich, however, doesn't see the necessity of sending troops. "Putting U.S. troops on that border draws the U.S. much closer to war in Syria, which is a nightmare already and can be more of a nightmare for our country," he said. "The talk of stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons ... that's an argument for making an effort to try to lessen the violence, not intensify it." "There's a trail of causality here," Kucinich added. "Once you position U.S troops on the border of a conflict area, it immeasurably increases the possibility of the U.S. getting drawn into the conflict — because we're there." In his 1964 book, Sen. Barry Goldwater stated: “The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multi-national consolidation of the commercial and banking interest by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power: political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical.”
Please note: There are many similarities to pre-WWII Germany. It's a short part of the clip, but the Obama Youth, touting the 'Yes We Can' slogan is eerie! This video is well-worth ten minutes of your time. Do you want to be slave or free? The government and world order want to enslave us further! Wake up!!! From the NY Daily News: Administration Advocates Breaking a 1988 Law That Defends Workers' Rights10/3/2012 The Obama administration's Friday afternoon document drop was a memo from the Department of Labor telling defense contractors not to provide legally-required notice to thousands of employees that they are about to be laid off, if automatic spending cuts agreed to by the President and the Congress take effect.
When the administration first proposed this idea back in June, defense contractors patiently explained to the President that there is a law, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification ("WARN") Act of 1988, that requires federal contractors to tell employees 60 days in advance of expected layoffs. There are quite a few layoffs expected for the end of the year as a result of an agreement between President Obama and Congress to cut astonishing amounts of funding for the Department of Defense. Companies that fail to meet their obligations under the WARN Act can be sued by their former employees. Defense contractors indicated that they would not be ignoring their legal duty under the WARN Act. The Obama administration's solution for these companies: Don't warn employees that they're about to be fired and the Department of Labor will pay the legal bills after fired employees sue for violating the WARN Act. This memo breaks the law. The President obviously wants to prevent thousands of employees, especially in swing-state Virginia, from being told that they are going to be laid off due to Department of Defense funding cuts. Because of the timing of the cuts, those notices would have been sent to employees just prior to the election in November. The man who signed those funding cuts into law would like to avoid that. Ironically, the WARN Act is just the sort of employee protection that Democrats have traditionally championed. I suppose winning the election is more important. Blocked legislation ... again. In 2008, the International Criminal Court (ICC) indicted the Sudan President Omar al Bashir on 10 counts of murder, genocide, and crimes against humanity for killing 35,000 inhabitants of Western Darfur. Considering the 2.5 million the Muslim, Bashir is 'credited' with murdering during his 20 years of rule, this is but a small number. Al Bashir is subject to arrest and trial if any nation is courageous enough to turn him in.
Now, U. S. President Barack Obama has decided to oppose Republican legislation that would deny American aid to any nation that hosts a visit from legendary murderer. Introduced by Congressman Frank Wolf of Virginia, this Amendment to the 2013 Foreign Operations Appropriations bill passed the House in May. Its purpose is to “…send a clear message to the international community that Bashir, the world’s most notorious perpetrator of genocide deserves to be treated as a pariah.” That “clear message” would prevent offending nations from collecting billions in non-humanitarian foreign aid from the United States. Why would the President block this legislation? Why are we still sending billions of dollars to countries that hate us and kill our people? Obviously, Congress wants to do something about it but the President does not! Low Inflation?!? Wait a minute ...
